Beastie:

“creating glyphs from living things”

In this project, I was asked to imagine writing never existed and create a new language system using collected materials for the natural history museum. I chose a combination of creatures that had unique shapes and forms.

The term "glyph has several meanings across different cultures. In archaeology, a glyph is a written or inscribed symbol like the hieroglyphics of ancient Egypt. In other words, a glyph is a pictogram that conveys a particular object or action with a picture where the mark is intended to invoke an idea.

However, In typography, a glyph is an elemental symbol within an agreed set of stamps designed to represent a readable character for writing.
